Abstract:

This study investigates the determinants that impact the acceptance and implementation of blockchain technology in Iraqi manufacturing firms, with a specific emphasis on its application in supply chain management (SCM). Utilizing a quantitative research methodology, the study adopts a cross-sectional research design in order to gather and analyze prevalent beliefs and attitudes. The explanatory research approach is aimed at clarifying the fundamental mechanisms that influence the decision-making process of technology adoption. The measurement of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model is conducted by a standardized questionnaire. This questionnaire encompasses various variables, namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating factors, and intention to embrace blockchain technology. In addition, the evaluation of blockchain efficiency is conducted by referring to relevant scholarly sources. The aspects of the Information System Success (ISS) model encompass system quality, information quality, service quality, and user happiness, which are all subject to measurement. The target audience for the content comprises senior management and department heads. The purpose is to offer valuable ideas derived from seasoned experts who have engaged directly with supply chain operations. The complete viewpoint of the study is enhanced by the utilization of a cross-sectional research design and quantitative methods. Theoretical structural equation modeling validates the existence of substantial associations between variables, emphasizing the significance of system, information, and service quality in promoting user satisfaction and performance expectations. The adoption intentions of blockchain is influenced by various socio-cognitive elements, including user happiness and performance expectation. These factors play a significant role in determining the likelihood of individuals adopting blockchain technology. The aforementioned findings provide valuable practical insights for Iraqi manufacturing businesses that are interested in using blockchain technology in their supply chain management (SCM) processes. By doing so, these companies can potentially improve their operational efficiency, enhance transparency, and ultimately enhance their overall performance.
